The real-world calendar's march into May will result in the arrival of new fish and bugs for players in the Northern and Southern Hemisphere. This isn't surprising as it also happened back at the beginning of April with plenty of critters being replaced by others.

Every player has a native type of flower on their cliffs. These will always be available to purchase from your shop. After you build Nook’s Cranny, more flower breeds will be available to purchase. To grab a wide array of them quickly, you may have to travel to some friends’ islands or get lucky at a Nook Miles island.
Players can either sell the fruit to Timmy and Tommy, use them as crafting materials for special DIY items, eat them to gain stamina to temporarily break rocks or transplant whole trees, or trade them with friends. Make sure to avoid eating fruit and then chopping a tree or stone unless you want to destroy them! The different fruits are apples, cherries, pears, peaches, oranges and coconuts.
Unlike the other fruits that can be obtained by visiting your friend's island or getting a random island with new fruit, to get coconuts, you need to earn Nook Miles & get a Nook Miles ticket to travel over to a tropical island where coconuts grow. Once you are on said tropical island, head to a beach to search for coconut trees.
